The largest FTSE 100 donators to charities promote up and coming grant programmes, bursaries, awards and partnership opportunities, volunteers and pro bono support. We think these opportunities will be worth checking to see if they fit into your organisation.

A large number of companies offer pro bono support and volunteers rather than funding and some have community champions. We think this could be a great way to link up with companies and start to build a longer term relationship. So while looking at corporate or other grant opportunities also look at other ways, they can support you or if you can partner with them.

Another, maybe less heard way of Corporate Giving is Payroll Giving. Payroll Giving or Give As You Earn is a method that enables employees to make regular donations to charities from their wages, which can provide a dependable source of income for charities/non profits.

According to this report not enough people know about payroll giving with 59% of employees surveyed not having heard of the scheme. However, those aware of payroll giving increase to 50% of employees within the Finance, Insurance, Real Estate and Tech Sectors. Also there seems to be a lack of awareness amongst employees of how payroll giving operates

Millennials and Gen Z are more aware of and more likely to consider using payroll giving. We think that payroll giving could be a growing area for income generation for charities.
